Western disturbance to bring rain to Jammu; limited impact on Kashmir
Srinagar: The weather across Jammu and Kashmir is expected to remain largely dry over the next few days, with brief spells of showers in isolated areas, mainly during the afternoon and evening hours, according to forecast inputs.
On April 5 and 6, conditions are likely to stay mostly dry, although higher reaches may witness light showers later in the day.
A change in weather is expected from April 7, as a fresh spell of Western Disturbance is set to affect the region. The system is likely to impact Jammu areas by late morning or afternoon, gradually extending to parts of Kashmir by evening or night.
The Jammu region is expected to bear the brunt of the disturbance, with moderate to heavy rainfall likely in several areas. In contrast, the impact over Kashmir is expected to remain relatively mild. Areas along the Pir Panjal Range, particularly on the Jammu side, may receive more intense showers.
Weather conditions are expected to improve again from April 9, with mostly dry conditions returning, although isolated showers in higher reaches cannot be ruled out during the afternoon or evening.
By April 10, the weather is likely to stabilise, with dry conditions prevailing across the Union Territory.
