Trump says Iran sent revised proposal minutes after US cancelled talks
Donald Trump said Iran put forward a revised proposal within minutes of the United States cancelling a planned diplomatic engagement, as negotiations between the two sides remain stalled.
Speaking to reporters before boarding Air Force One in Florida, Trump said the initial proposal from Tehran was rejected by Washington.
“They gave us a paper that could have been better, and interestingly, immediately when I cancelled it, within 10 minutes we got a new paper that was much better,” he said.
Trump did not provide details of the proposals or clarify whether talks would resume. The remarks come amid ongoing tensions and uncertainty over diplomatic efforts between the United States and Iran.
