The Wall Street Journal reported that the United Arab Emirates had allegedly conducted covert attacks against Iran during the ongoing conflict involving the United States and Israel.

According to the report, one strike in early April targeted a refinery on Lavan Island, triggering a major fire and forcing the facility to shut down shortly before President Donald Trump was expected to announce a ceasefire.

The newspaper said Iran later retaliated by launching ballistic missiles and drones toward the UAE and Kuwait. One source cited in the report claimed Washington had quietly supported Abu Dhabi’s involvement.

The report further stated that Iran carried out more than 2,800 missile and drone attacks against the UAE during the conflict, causing economic disruptions and reshaping Emirati strategic calculations toward Tehran.

The UAE foreign ministry did not directly address the allegations but referred to an earlier statement asserting Abu Dhabi’s right to respond to hostile actions.
