Drug peddler’s ₹1 crore property seized in Anantnag

A notorious drug peddler's house seized in Bijbehara.

Anantnag: Continuing its crackdown on narcotics trafficking under the Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan, Srinagar Police seized an immovable property belonging to a notorious drug peddler in Anantnag district in connection with a narcotics case registered in Srinagar.

The attached property is a residential house belonging to Aamir Hassan Mir, son of Ghulam Hassan Mir, a resident of Bonpora Dupatyar in Bijbehara, built on land bearing Khasra 134 at Bonpora Dupatyar, Bijbehara. The property is estimated to be worth around Rs 1 crore.

The action was taken under Section 68(F) of the NDPS Act in connection with FIR 17/2026 under Sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Shergari, Srinagar.

The attachment was carried out in the presence of the Executive Magistrate 1st Class, Bijbehara, after completion of legal formalities. Authorities said the property cannot be sold, transferred or otherwise dealt with without prior permission from the competent authority.

J&K Police said it remains committed to dismantling narcotics networks and taking strict legal action against those involved in drug trafficking. Police also urged the public to share information related to drug peddling to help build a drug-free society.
