Southwest monsoon reaches Mumbai after 13-day delay, brings relief from heat
Mumbai: The southwest monsoon finally arrived in Mumbai on Tuesday, 13 days behind its normal schedule, bringing relief from the sweltering heat and ushering in widespread rainfall.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the monsoon has advanced further into the remaining parts of the central Arabian Sea, additional areas of Maharashtra, including Mumbai, as well as the rest of Telangana and Odisha, and more parts of Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Bihar.
The onset of the monsoon in Mumbai marks a significant weather shift after an extended spell of hot and humid conditions, with heavy rains expected to provide much-needed respite to residents.
