PaK resident arrested after crossing LoC in Poonch, say officials
Poonch: A 31-year-old man from Pakistan-administered Kashmir (PaK) was apprehended by armed forces after allegedly crossing the Line of Control (LoC) in the Balakote sector of Poonch district on Sunday, officials said.
Officials said that the man was taken into custody shortly after he allegedly crossed into the Indian side of the LoC in the Balakote sector.
They said the person has been identified as Rayees Khan, 31, a resident of PaK, and is being questioned to ascertain the purpose of the crossing and to determine whether he acted alone or had any accomplices.
“He was taken into custody soon after crossing to this side of the LoC,” the officials said.
Meanwhile, security has been tightened, and surveillance intensified along the LoC in the area as a precautionary measure, they added.
