Three arrested as police bust sex racket in Jammu’s Akhnoor, say officials
Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested three persons after allegedly busting a sex racket operating from a house in the Akhnoor area of Jammu district, officials said.
Acting on specific information, police raided a house in Ward 2, Kashmiri Mohalla, Akhnoor, where they suspected immoral trafficking activities were taking place.
The accused have been identified as Ravi Gupta, the owner of the house and a resident of Ward 2, Akhnoor; Sarishta Devi, a resident of Chowki Choura, Akhnoor; and Sahil Sharma, a resident of Sungal, Akhnoor.
Police said a case has been registered under FIR No. 164/2026 at Police Station Akhnoor under the relevant provisions of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956.
Officials said the investigation is ongoing to identify other persons who may have been involved and to determine the full extent of the alleged operation.
Police said they will continue their crackdown on immoral trafficking and organised crime in the district.
