CRPF organises volleyball tournament under Civic Action Programme in Ganderbal

Ganderbal: The 115 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) organised a two-day volleyball tournament under its Civic Action Programme at Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Duderhama, in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ganderbal district. The tournament began on July 29 and concluded with the final match on July 30.

Under Commandant Mahipal Singh Shekhawat, the tournament witnessed participation from eight teams representing various schools across the district. The event aimed to encourage sportsmanship, promote physical fitness, and provide a platform for young athletes to showcase their talent while strengthening community engagement.

The final match was played between Government Boys Higher Secondary School (BHSS), Ganderbal, and Government Boys Higher Secondary School (BHSS), Kurhama. In a closely contested encounter, BHSS Kurhama emerged victorious to lift the championship trophy.

Sohail Ramzan of BHSS Kurhama was named Player of the Tournament for his outstanding performance in the final. He was presented with the Player of the Tournament trophy during the closing ceremony in recognition of his skill, determination, and sportsmanship.

Commandant Shekhawat highlighted the importance of sports in shaping the character of young people and promoting a disciplined, healthy, and positive lifestyle. He said that initiatives under the Civic Action Programme help strengthen mutual trust, harmony, and cooperation between the CRPF and the local community.

The winning team, runners-up, and outstanding performers were felicitated during the prize distribution ceremony. The tournament received appreciation from local residents, school authorities, teachers, students, and participants.
