Israeli forces arrest Palestinian man after raid in West Bank’s Qatanna

The Israeli military detained a Palestinian man on Monday after raiding his home in the West Bank village of Qatana, where the house raid took place, Al-Qastal News reported.

Israeli troops continued making arrests in the occupied Palestinian territories in recent months. The identity of the man and the reason for his arrest was not yet clear and had not been officially announced.

Qatana, a small Palestinian village located to the northwest of Jerusalem; has increasingly become an area where Israeli forces conduct raids, house searches and detentions.

The new raid and arrest occur amid increased raids carried out daily in Palestinian villages across the West Bank. The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs documented multiple reports of Israeli military action toward Palestinian-occupied villagers and documented other cases of occupation forces conducting raids, arresting occupants, limiting movement and initiating security-related issues around the area. It has not been determined or released for public viewing whether the man will face official charges.
