Russia says its forces captured three settlements in Ukraine
On Tuesday, the Russian news agency RIA Novosti cited Russian military sources as saying that gains had been made in the regions of Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk and Sumy, parts of which are occupied by Russian forces.
The same agency later, on Tuesday evening, reported, citing the Russian Ministry of Defence, that its troops had “taken control” of Dolynka in the southern Zaporizhzhia region, SE of Donetsk, named as Kucheriv Yar, and Novokostiantynivka in the northern Ukraine Sumy region.
The claim could not be independently verified.
Continued reports are emerging from the battlefield of steady Russian gains in various parts of the front, even while it remains difficult or impossible to independently identify just how much ground each side is gaining and losing.
