Israeli strikes on the southern Lebanese town of Kfar Rumman killed at least 11 people on Monday, including two babies and two medics. Five others were wounded, Al Jazeera reported.

Israeli strikes hit a residential building and a civilian vehicle in Kfar Rumman in the Nabatieh district, the agency said.

The strike was launched as Israel continues military operations in southern Lebanon despite a US-brokered ceasefire with Hezbollah in place since June. Israeli strikes and clashes have been happening along the border in recent weeks.

The Israeli military did not respond to questions about the Kfar Rumman strikes or say whether it knew civilians were at the targeted locations, Reuters reported .

Israel says it is targeting Hezbollah in southern Lebanon. The Israeli military said the latest escalation resulted from Hezbollah drone attacks on Israeli forces in a self-declared security zone in south Lebanon.
