Seven militants killed in Pakistan security operations in Balochistan

Pakistan security forces killed seven militants in two separate operations in Balochistan, security sources told state media on Friday. Five militants were killed in Panjgur district and two were killed in Kachhi district.

Five militants were killed during an operation in Panjgur’s Fateh Ali area, and security forces recovered a large quantity of weapons and ammunition, according to Radio Pakistan.

In another intelligence-based operation, two more militants were killed in the Dhadar area of Kachhi district. Several others were also wounded in the operation, security sources said.

The raids were part of Pakistan’s ongoing security operation in Balochistan. State media said those killed were members of what Pakistani authorities call “Fitna al-Hindustan” – the term used by the government for militant groups it accuses of involvement in violence in the province.

The latest operations come against a backdrop of continuing militant violence in Balochistan, where Pakistani security forces have mounted repeated intelligence-based operations.

Neither the military nor the government has provided independent details about who the people killed were or what the alleged militant activities were that led to the operations.
