Five houses damaged in overnight fire in Anantnag

Anantnag: Five residential houses were damaged in a fire that broke out in the Qazi Mohalla area of Anantnag during the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday, officials said.

An official said that the blaze engulfed five houses and left one person with minor injuries.

The Fire and Emergency Services Department responded promptly after receiving information about the incident and managed to bring the fire under control with the help of local residents, the official said.

No fatalities were reported, while the injured person was shifted to a hospital for treatment, the official added.

The cause of the fire is being investigated, officials said.
