MeT: Light rain, snow likely in JK till October 15; dry weather thereafter
Srinagar: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has forecast light rain and snow at scattered locations across Jammu and Kashmir over the coming days, with a spell of mainly dry weather expected from October 16.
According to the weather department, October 8 to 10 is likely to remain partly to generally cloudy, with light rain expected at scattered places and light snowfall possible over higher reaches.
On October 9, most areas are expected to remain dry, although a brief spell of light rain may occur at a few places towards the evening.
The weather is forecast to remain generally dry from October 11 to 13, though a brief spell of rain could occur towards the evening or night of October 13.
For October 14 and 15, the MeT has predicted generally cloudy conditions, with light rain and light snowfall over higher elevations at many places. Thunderstorms and gusty winds are also possible during this period.
The department has forecast generally dry weather from October 16 to 18.
Meanwhile, the MeT has advised farmers to continue with the harvesting and safe storage of apples and paddy in view of the anticipated weather conditions.
