Bollywood star Tiger Shroff survived a shooting in Mumbai’s Juhu area Sunday evening after unidentified men opened fire at his car, hitting his chauffeur and a bystander. The star was in his car when the assailants opened fire at him, BBC reported.

The incident occurred near Pushpa Park as Shroff was heading home after playing football. It was reported that three men on a bike approached the vehicle and opened fire for several rounds before fleeing.

Shroff was not shot, but he had a few small, minor scratch marks, whereas his driver had some sort of injury on his left hand. Another auto-rickshaw driver received some kind of injuries, and they were hospitalised.

Mumbai Police have constituted several teams to track down the assailants and are scanning CCTV footage and forensic evidence. Police have also lodged a first information report against the unknown suspects, reports The Indian Express.

The attack was claimed on social media by two purported operatives of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, but this was yet to be verified independently.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said the attack was condemned and those trying to instil fear among the people would not be spared, according to local media.

The reasons behind the shooting are not known and the police are still investigating.
