Light rain, snow expected in Kashmir on October 29, says MeT
An official of the Meteorological Department said that the weather would remain mainly dry on October 28.
On October 29, a brief spell of light rain and light snow over higher-altitude areas is expected at a few places, while weather conditions are likely to remain generally dry on October 30 and 31.
The department has forecast partly cloudy skies from November 1 to 3. From November 4 to 6, partly cloudy weather is expected, with the possibility of brief spells of light rain at a few places.
The department has not forecast any significant weather activity during the period.
Weather conditions in Jammu and Kashmir during late October and early November typically reflect the transition from autumn towards winter. Higher-altitude areas are more likely to experience early snowfall, while the plains may witness rainfall and falling temperatures as winter approaches.
Weather changes during this period can affect travel across mountainous routes and influence temperature conditions across the Kashmir Valley and Jammu division. Residents, commuters and travellers, particularly those heading towards higher elevations, are advised to follow official weather updates for any changes in the forecast.
