Police register case after SIT finds ‘vital’ leads in case of missing constable

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Police have registered a case in missing case of a constable.

The police had formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the missing of its cops.

J&K Police spokesperson in a statement on Wednesday evening said that the SIT constituted under the directions of SSP Srinagar Imtiyaz Ismail to trace out the missing constable namely Sameer Kumar, has found some “vital” leads which will help in solving the case.

“In order to probe further into the matter, a formal case has been registered in Police Station Sherghari and investigation of the case is going on. Efforts are on to trace the culprits and to affect the arrest,” the JKP spokesperson said.

As has been reported earlier, Ct Sameer Ji Kumar had gone missing from his duties since 14th of this month.
