Amarnath Yatra suspended due to inclement weather

Srinagar: The annual Amarnath Yatra which was flagged off yesterday has been temporarily halted due to inclement weather.

The Yatra was suspended at Baltal and Chandanwari, the two main base camps after heavy and incessant rains on Friday.

Till now more than ten thousand pilgrims have paid obeisance at the holy cave amid very tight security.

It is pertinent to mention that an additional 40,000 troops have been deployed for the security of the Yatris after intelligence reports suggested threat to the annual pilgrimage. More over drones are also being used for security purposes.
