Shah’s ED custody extended by a day

New Delhi: Hurriyat leader Shabir Shah’s enforcement Directorate (ED) custody was extended till August 3 by a court in New Delhi on Wednesday.

Shah was presented before the court after the expiry of his seven-day custody and the judge allowed the ED to quiz Shah for one more day. He was arrested from Srinagar on July 25 on charges of money laundering in a case dating back to 2005.

The Hurriyat has called the National Investigation Agency’s (NIA) crackdown on them as a ‘War Weapon’ against the people who want the resolution of the Kashmir issue.

Former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah had congratulated the NIA for their probe against the Hurriyat leaders however he had asked them to probe the ‘Indian funding’ of the Hurriyat leaders too.
