Minimize the use of pellet guns in Kashmir: Ram Madhav

Srinagar:  In an all-India meet in Delhi on Monday the BJP’s national general secretary Ram Madhav said that the use of pellet guns should be minimized as the situation has improved to a large extent since the 2016 uprising, according to reports.

Kashmir Reader, a local newspaper reported that Madhav said that stone-pelting incidents compared to last year have reduced by 80 percent and there is a need to minimize the use of pellet guns in Kashmir Valley.

“Madhav ji informed Amit ji and Modi ji that the concerted moves by the government have shattered terror groups like Lashkar-e-Toiba and NIA raids have helped to tighten the noose over terror funding agencies. He also said that the situation has improved to a large extent, and it will only take six months to make the region peaceful again,” a BJP source told Kashmir Reader.

Madhav made these assertions at the BJP’s two-day national executive meeting which was inaugurated by party president Amit Shah on Sunday.

The meeting was attended by the party’s office-bearers, state chiefs and organisational leaders to finalise agenda items, including resolutions, which the national executive will discuss. Three CMs, six Deputy CMs, 232 state ministers, 1,500 MLAs and 334 MPs were present at the BJP meeting on Monday. All legislators and top functionaries from the BJP’s J&K state unit attended the meeting, reports said.
