“He never worked for the people, can’t win even a panchayat election”

Jammu: Senior PDP leader and Minister for Information, Civil Supplies and Public Distribution Chowdhry Zulfikar on Sunday welcomed the resignation of party leader and sitting MLC Vikramaditya Singh and said that he had become a “liability” for the party.

Talking to KNS, Chowdhry Zulfikar said, “Though Vikramaditya was a political non entity but PDP had given him an opportunity to serve the people of Jammu region but he failed to deliver on ground. We are happy that he has resigned. He had become a liability for the party and can’t win even a panchayat election”.

Notably Vikramaditya Singh the son of former Sadr-e-Reyasat Dr Karan Singh, who himself is a member of the Congress party and his elder son Ajatshatru Singh in the BJP, had through a letter to Chief Minister posted on social networking sites announced his resignation from both the party and as well as the legislative council.

Singh had said that he could not continue with a party which disregarded the aspirations and the demands of the Jammu region.

According to him, the issues included “illegal settlement” of Rohingyas and demand for a public holiday on the birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh.
