Fraud: ‘Auqaf Committee sold State Land to me, dozen others’, alleges driver from Anantnag

Anantnag: Next time if you intend to purchase land, be sure, the land doesn’t belong to the government. Auqaf Committee Nanil in South Kashmir’s Anantnag has cheated a poor driver by selling the state land to him.

Abdul Rashid Balandh, a resident of Zewan Srinagar along with his three kids presented himself in Press Enclave Srinagar on Monday.

He told reporters that Auqaf Committee Nanil sold him land of 27 Marlas at Akhoonpora Nanil, little did he know that the land belonged to the state.

“Through Auqaf Committee Nanil represented by Gulzar Ahmed Dar, I paid Rs2 lakh ten thousand to Manzoor Ahmed Dar of Nanil Herpora and Ghulam Muhammad Rather of Takiabal Bijbehara.

I constructed a house on the piece of land but till date I didn’t receive any document,” he said adding that he was shocked to learn that the said piece of land he purchased is government land.

He said, “I had not paid money for the state land. Auqaf Committee Nanil cheated me. Even if I want to sell my house on the said land, I can’t because it is the property of the government,” he said and added that same Auqaf Committee has sold state land to dozens of people in Nanil and adjacent areas.

He appealed the concerned authorities to look into the matter and administer justice to him.
