Tral Gunfight: Militant, two personnel killed, search on in the area, says Police

The Jammu and Kashmir Police has said that the gunfight between militants and armed forces has ended with the killing of one militant and two personnel.

Two armed forces personnel were injured in the firefight. The police also informed that the searches are still going on in the area.

While talking to Greater Kashmir, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir, SP Pani said that the killed militant seems to be a foreigner.

The gun fight started when a joint operation was started by the Rashtriya Rifles (RR), state police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in Lam forest area of Tral.

In the initial exchange of fire, Sepoy Ajay Kumar of 42 RR, was injured and succumbed to his injuries at Army’s 92 Base Hospital in Badami Bagh Cantonment. A cop, identified as Latif Gujar also succumbed to his injuries.

Earlier, it was reported that two to three militants are engaged in the gun fight.
