Hajj 2018: First batch of 820 pilgrims leave for Saudi Arabia

Srinagar: To perform the annual Hajj pilgrimage, the first batch of 820 pilgrims from Jammu and Kashmir left for Saudi Arabia on Saturday morning.

Special buses were arranged which took the pilgrims from the Srinagar Hajj House in Bemina area to the Srinagar International airport early morning. The first flight carrying the pilgrims will return on 25th August and the last flight will come back on 7th September.

Authorities informed that four Air India flights will be carrying them to Saudi Arabia. The last pilgrims are expected to leave on July 25.

Over 10,000 pilgrims from Jammu and Kashmir will perform this year’s Hajj.

Earlier, an additional quota of 250 seats was allowed to the state by All India Hajj Committee.
