People need to decide between Suheldev or Ghaznavi: Yogi

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday, while addressing an OBC convention, said that the Rajbar community needs to decide if it stands by the ideology of 11th century Bharpasi king Suheldev or with Muslim invader Mohammad Ghaznavi and Muhammad bin Tughluq.

The statement was aimed at cabinet minister SBSP chief Om Prakash Rajbhar who had accused the state government of corruption and falling short of its law and order duties.

“We should not get swayed by those who consider Muhammad bin Tughluq and Muhammad Ghori their idols. We need to decide whether the country should follow the path shown by Maharaja Suheldev or Muhammad bin Tughluq and Mahmud Ghaznavi,” he said.

He said that the state government had been doing its part for the community while planning a grand memorial in the name of King Suheldev in Bahraich.

Earlier in February, BJP President Amit Shah had unveiled a statue of Maharaja Suheldev in Bahraich.
