Srinagar: A migrant labourer was critically injured in a shootout between militants and armed forces in Hajidarpora village of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Wednesday.
News agency GNS reported that that the patrolling party of army’s 55 RR was passing through Hajidarpora area of Pulwama district at 9:45 am in when militants attacked it. There was a brief exchange of fire between militants and army for sometime.
SSP Pulwama, Chandan Kohli confirmed to GNS that there was some exchange of fire between army and militants in Hajidarpoora.
A police official said that a labourer, identified as Suresh Kumar of Uttar Pradesh, was critically injured in the shootout.
He was shifted to District Hospital Pulwama where from he was referred to Srinagar in critical condition.
Meanwhile, the entire area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers, GNS said.
