A hearing has been scheduled by the Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday following a woman’s allegations of sexual assault as a teenager on Supreme Court nominee, Brett Kavanaugh, AP reported. Meanwhile, another sexual assault allegation has popped up.

The New Yorker Magazine quoted by AP reported on Sunday night that an investigation was underway by Senior Democrats following a second woman’s accusation of sexual assault by Kavanaugh, which is said to have occurred in the  1983-84 academic year while the nominee was attending Yale University.

After NYM contacted her, the 53-year-old woman narrated the ordeal in an interview. Reportedly, Kavanaugh exposed himself during a drunken dormitory party and thrust his penis on her face which caused her to touch it without her consent while pushing him away.

In a statement provided by the White House, Kavanaugh said the event “did not happen” and that the allegation was “a smear, plain and simple.” A White House spokeswoman said that the allegation was “designed to tear down a good man.”

AP reported that the magazine stated that the woman was reluctant at first to speak publicly “partly because her memories contained gaps because she had been drinking at the time of the alleged incident.” She also acknowledged reluctance “to characterize Kavanaugh’s role in the alleged incident with certainty.”

After “six days of carefully assessing her memories and consulting with her attorney, the woman said that she felt confident enough of her recollections”, the magazine reported.

Earlier, Christine Blasey Ford, a 51-year-old research psychologist in California, had accused US Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct in the early 1980s publicly narrated her ordeal through the Washington Post on Sunday, Reuters reported.

During the interview, she said when she was attending a high school in Maryland, a “stumbling drunk” Kavanaugh pinned her to a bed, groped her and attempted to remove her clothing.

Last week, however, Kavanaugh had “categorically and unequivocally” denied the allegations. The White House did not reply immediately for a comment on Sunday.
