U.S President Donald Trump mocked the ‘#MeToo’ movement at a mid-term election rally in Pennsylvania and said that he needed to now censor himself due to the rules of this movement, which is being enforced by the press, PTI reported.

“There’s an expression, but under the rules of #MeToo, I am not allowed to use that expression anymore. I can’t do it,” Trump said. He pointed at the phrase “the girl that got away”.

“It’s the person that got away. The old days, it was a little different than Pennsylvania to it,” Trump said referring to the GOP’s inability to win presidential elections earlier.

Pointing to the media, Trump said he would use the original phrase, except for the media. “I would do it except for these people up there. They would say, did you hear what President Trump said? Did you hear what he said?” he said imitating reporters.

“So, there is an expression, but we’ll change the expression. Pennsylvania was always the person that got away. That’s pretty good,” he said.

The ‘#MeToo’ campaign in India was kickstarted after former actor Tanushree Dutta accused actor Nana Patekar of harassing her on the sets of a film 10 years ago.

Comic Utsav Chakraborty, author Chetan Bhagat and actor Rajat Kapoor have also been called out and they apologized.

Comedy group AIB’s two founder members have stepped down. Many journalists have been listed since Friday.

Sandhya Menon alleged harassment in 2005 and 2008 by an editor of the Times of India; the newspaper said the charge would be investigated by its committee against sexual harassment.

“A highly empowered and accessible committee under this policy and under the law is in place to investigate and address all allegations of sexual harassment,” said the media house in a statement, adding that the group was headed by a senior woman executive.
