Lal Chowk March: Internet speed reduced to 2G in Srinagar as ‘precautionary measure’

Srinagar: In wake of the proposed Lal Chowk march and sit in called by the Joint Resistance Leadership, high speed internet has been suspended by the authorities on Tuesday.

An official said that the speed of mobile Internet service has been reduced to 2G in the capital city as a “precautionary measure”.

Moreover, authorities have sealed the commercial hub of Lal Chowk in Srinagar city to prevent the march.
On Monday, the police issued an advisory, asking commuters to use an alternate route as no traffic would be allowed between Amira Kadal and Regal Chowk.

Earlier, on Tuesday, Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chief Yasin Malik appeared in Lal Chowk on Tuesday morning after remaining in hiding to evade his arrest ahead of the Joint Resistance Leadership protest march to centre of the summer capital after seven civilians and three militants were killed in Kulgam.
