Popular crime TV series ‘Breaking Bad’ movie in the works, series creator to ‘possibly direct’ it

Popular crime TV series Breaking Bad is all set to get its own movie after The Hollywood Reporter reported that the series creator Vince Gilligan would write, executive produce and “possibly direct” the movie. However, it is not clear whether it will be a TV movie or a theatrical release.

There is also no confirmation on whether the movie will be a prequel or a follow-up. It is also not clear if any actors from the original show will return.

The character of Walter White, played by Bryan Cranston is unlikely to return if it is a sequel since the character died at the end of the show. The plot details are also scarce.

Breaking Bad is widely believed to be one of the best television dramas of all time. It aired for five seasons and got an overwhelming critical and audience reception. It was based on a character called Walter White, a high-school chemistry teacher who turns to drug business when he gets diagnosed with lung cancer.

Using his wide knowledge of chemistry and the distribution skills of his ex-student Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul), he creates an empire and becomes a feared kingpin.
