‘Unacceptable’: Tarigami condemns killing of Hurriyat activist at Achabal

Srinagar: While condemning the killing of Hurriyat activist Hafizullah Mir by unknown gunmen in Acchabal, Anantnag, senior CPI(M) leader and MLA Kulgam, Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami, in a statement, said that such killings are unacceptable.

The killing of unarmed civilian is unfortunate and must be condemned by everybody in one voice, the statement read.

“Whether a civilian is killed by the bullet from one side or the other, it is loss of precious human life,” the statement said.

The CPI(M) leader expressed his heartfelt condolences with the bereaved family.

Meanwhile, the Joint Resistance Leadership while condemning the killing of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat leader Hafizullah Mir and has called for a shutdown on November 22.

United Jehad Council chief Syed Salahuddin also called it the ‘handiwork of Indian agencies.’ 

In a statement, he expressed anguish over the killing and said the “machinations of Indian agencies and their supporters in Kashmir have been exposed with this killing.”

He said “the Indian agencies have started target killings of pro-freedom leadership, which in itself is the acceptance of India’s failure in Kashmir.”

The JRL in their statement also pointed out that in every mass uprising, particularly in 2016, Hafizullah Mir played a pivotal and central role for about five months to sustain that movement and gave a very tough time to the government forces and finally they trapped him in a deceitful manner.
