Abid, civilian killed in Pulwama, had gone to fetch milk for his three month old daughter

Multiple Funerals took place in the Pulwama region of Kashmir where three militants and seven civilians were killed in armed forces' firing.

Abid was an MBA graduate from Indonesia and married to an Indonesian woman  

Srinagar: One of the seven civilians killed in armed forces action against protesters at Sirnoo area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district was MBA pass out from a university in Indonesia.

The killed civilian Abid Hussain Lone had also married in Indonesia and had three months old baby. Abid had returned home last year along with his wife from Indonesia to join his family, comprising of his mother, a retired government teacher, and his brother who is presently pursuing an MBA degree in Banglore.

Abid, a resident of Kareemabad, Pulwama was killed when armed forces fired live ammunition on civilian protesters near the site of the gunfight in which three militants were killed.

According to reports Abid had left home early morning to get milk for his daughter.

Seven civilians were killed after armed forces opened fire on protesters near the site of a gunfight in Kharpora Sarnoo village of Pulwama district today morning. Three militants and an army man were killed in the gunfight.

Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) has called for a three-day shutdown and mourning in Kashmir and urged people to march towards the army base in Badami Bagh in Srinagar on Monday.

National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah while reacting on the Pulwama civilian killings said that it is a massacre and there is no other way to describe it.

Earlier, Abdullah while reacting to the civilian killings had said that it was  ‘another blood soaked weekend in Kashmir’

PDP President Mehbooba Mufti while reacting to the civilian killings has said that there would be no probe which would bring back the dead. She also asked that ‘is this what was expected from the Governor rule’?

She also said that no country can win a war by killing its own people.

Police, in their statement said that they were ‘deeply grieved’ by the loss of civilian lives however claimed that the crowd came ‘dangerously close’ to the gunfight site.
