If Art 370 scrapped, relation between JK and India will have to be renegotiated with new conditions: Mehbooba

Srinagar: PDP Chief Mhebooba Mufti on Saturday said that if the special status of the state is altered with, then the relationship between JK and India will have to be renegotiated with new conditions.

The former Chief Minister went on to say that as a Muslim majority state, would JK even ‘want to stay with you (India)?’

” If you break that bridge (Art 370), then you will have to renegotiate relationship between India and Jammu& Kashmir. There will be new conditions. As a Muslim majority state, would it even want to stay with you? If you scrap 370, your relation with J&K will be over,” she said.

Mehbooba was reacting over the comments of Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitely who recently said that the Article 35-A is “constitutionally vulnerable”and has denied JK  a booming economy.
