FCIK holds Annual General Body Meeting, declares elections

Srinagar: Annual General Body Meeting (AGM) of Federation of Chambers of industries Kashmir (FCIK) was held at FCIK House Sanat Nagar.

The meeting was attended by a large number of general members from across the valley and chaired by Manzoor Ahmed Qadri.

Speaking on the occasion President Mohammad Ashraf Mir reflected upon the industrial ecosystem of the state and challenges it faces. He reiterated the commitment of the Kashmir Industry towards the self-reliance and import substitution and asked the members present to contribute in achieving the objective.

Addressing the young and budding entrepreneurs of the valley Mir asked them to come forward and take charge of the industrial landscape of the valley to take it forward.

He asked them to utilise their energies and novel ideas to energise the Kashmir industry make it vibrant, competitive and sustainable. He asked the young entrepreneurs to come forward and contribute in the organisational matters as they are the future.

He said there was a need to synergise the experience of our generation with energy and ideas of the present day youth to take the society forward in all the spheres and achieve the desired objectives.

Highlighting the achievements which were the result of relentless efforts put in by the administrative council during their tenancy President spoke about the challenges facing the organisation due the lack of seriousness amongst the stake holders at times.

A five member Election Commission was appointed by the General Members which was given two months time to complete the elections of Executive Council and Administrative Council for a smooth transition of power.

Throughout the AGM an atmosphere of mutual respect, trust and brotherhood prevailed and in the end Mr. Hakeem Khalid thanked the members who took out the time despite their busy schedules and made the AGM possible.
