PDP workers thrash NC’s polling agent in Bijbehara on allegations of ‘bogus voting’

Srinagar: Supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party roughed up a polling agent of the National Conference at a polling station in Bijbehara in Anantnag.

They alleged the he was indulging in bogus voting, reported the ANI.


Meanwhile, up to 3 pm, 11.22 percent voting was witnessed in Anantnag in the third phase of the Lok Sabha polls.

Polling began at 7 a.m. and will end at 4 pm for the Anantnag Lok Sabha seat.

Heavy deployment of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) and state police has been made to secure the polling stations and provide safety to the voters.

Mehbooba Mufti, the Peoples Democratic Party President, Ghulam Ahmed Mir, state President of the Congress, Justice (Retired) Hasnain Masoodi of the National Conference, Sofi Yusuf of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Chowdhury Zafar Ali of the People’s Conference are in the fray in this constituency.

Meanwhile, on call of the Joint Resistance Leadership, Kashmir valley observed a shutdown on Tuesday. The strike was called in protest against the ‘ill treatment’ of JKLF Chief Yasin Malik by the NIA.
