BJP’s National General Secretary Ram Madhav has said that the Article 370 has to go ‘ ‘lock, stock and barrel’ as was mentioned by the Home Minister of India Amit Shah in the Lok Sabha on Friday.
Madhav said, “When it was introduced the then PM Nehru had himself said it is a temporary position, it will erode on its own. Even Nehru wanted it to go.”

He added that regarding the issue BJP’s ideological commitment is well known. “Article 370 should be removed. We are against it since the beginning. Govt will take a suitable step to remove Article 370 at appropriate time.”Earlier, Minister of State (PMO) Jitendra Singh had said that had the first Prime Minister of India Jawaharlal Nehru allowed the then Home Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel handle Jammu and Kashmir like other princely states, not only the history of Kashmir but the entire sub continent would have been different.
