Eid in a lockdown due to coronavirus has made the followers of the Islamic faith change the way they celebrate the festival.

While most people stayed indoors, some ventured out to offer the congregational prayers while maintaining physical distancing norms.

In Kashmir too, where restrictions on movement and communication are a part of everyday life in the conflict stuck region, people decided to stay indoors.

To give a message of hope and cheer, Kashmiri Vlogger (Video Blogger) Musaib Afzal, created a video of people, from around the world, wishing Eid Mubarak in the Kashmiri language.

You can watch the video here:

The creator of the video, Musaib, is a student currently pursuing his education in Turkey.

Speaking to Free Press Kashmir, Musaib says that as a full time volunteer with an organisation that works for international students in Turkey, he had a lot of time on his hands as the world is locked down.

“The idea behind the video is to send a message that Kashmir is not alone, and the Kashmiri people are not alone. I also wanted to make a point that Kashmiris who are outside have not forgotten Kashmir,” Musaib says.

The video features people from Turkey, Egypt, Indonesia, Côte d’Ivoire, Syria, Kazakhstan, Burkina Faso and Kashmir.
