WATCH: Kashmiri Pandits wish their Muslim counterparts ‘Eid Mubarak’ in this heartfelt video

Eid in a lockdown due to coronavirus has made the followers of the Islamic faith change the way they celebrate the festival.

While most people stayed indoors, some ventured out to offer the congregational prayers while maintaining physical distancing norms.

In Kashmir too, where restrictions on movement and communication are a part of everyday life, people decided to stay indoors.

In the times of divide and extreme positions, a message of brotherhood and love on the internet is winning hearts.

Amit Wanchoo, a Medical Doctor by profession, a social activist and a cultural entrepreneur, has complied a video of Kashmiri Pandits wishing their Muslim counterparts ‘Eid Mubarak‘.

The video has over 300 shares on Facebook, and is filled with positive comments of appreciation.

The creator of the video, Wanchoo, is based in Srinagar and says that Kashmiris across religions share the same gene and climate of hatred cannot mutate that gene.

Speaking to Free Press Kashmir, Wanchoo says, “our binding is natural, cultural and emotional. The love I have got from Kashmiri Muslim friends and neighbours, and the friends of my parents and grandparents since childhood is something real and natural. So I felt we should do it.”

The video features some known and unknown faces of the Kashmiri Pandit community based all over the world.
