With record 20,000 cases in a single day, India’s COVID tally crosses 5.2 lakh

In the highest spike of cases till now, 20,060 cases were recorded throughout India in the last 24 hours, taking the tally to 5,29,533.

414 deaths were recorded on Saturday taking the death toll to 16,095.

The highest jump was recorded by Maharashtra as it continues to be the major contributor of covid-19 cases.

The state recorded 6,368 fresh infections and thus, breached the 2,000 mark for the first time.

It was followed by Tamil Nadu with 3,713 cases, Telangana with 1,087 cases and Karnataka with 918 cases.
