2 teenagers drown in river Sindh in Ganderbal, rescue operation launched

Srinagar: Two teenagers from Srinagar went missing on Sunday after drowning into a stream in central Kashmir’s Kangan.

A local resident, who was present at the spot, told Free Press Kashmir that three boys from Srinagar who had come for an excursion near Kich Park in Kangan, were bathing in Nallah Sindh. But as soon as they entered into the water, the gushing water pushed three of them into the middle, thus making impossible for them to save themselves.

However, one among them managed to save himself, but two others are still missing.

An eyewitness told FPK that a team of police and locals are on the job and searches are underway to trace the other two boys.

The two youth have been identified as Zahid Umar and Faisal Ahmed, both residents of Qamarwari Srinagar.
