3 grenade attacks reported in 24 hours in Kashmir, 2 police personnel injured

Srinagar: In three grenade attacks reported during the last 24 hours, two Jammu and Kashmir police personnel were injured, after suspected militants attacked the armed forces in Pulwama and Shopian districts of South Kashmir.

On Wednesday afternoon, a grenade was hurled followed by firing on the armed forces personnel in Bonbazar area of Shopian. However, as soon as the firing ended, armed forces personnel cordoned off the area and searches were conducted, to nab the attackers.

Hours after the incident, another incident of firing on a party of armed forces personnel was reported in the same area. However, no loss of life or damage was reported from both the incidents.

Earlier on Tuesday evening, two Jammu and Kashmir police personnel were injured after suspected militants attacked a police party in Pulwama district.

Reports said that militants lobbed a grenade at the police party near Wanpora Pulwama, injuring head constable identified as Khurshid Ahmad and Special Police Officer (SPO) Ishfaq Ahmad.

In the incident, the duo suffered splinter injuries and was taken to hospital, however, both the persons are said to be stable now.
