Students get relaxation in syllabus: ‘Reduced to 70 percent’, says Samoon

Srinagar: A week after the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) said that it is working on to formulate a policy regarding reduction in the syllabus, Principal Secretary, School Education, Dr Asgar Samoon on Thursday said that syllabus for 10+2 class examinations has been reduced to 70% in JK.

“Syllabus for 10+2 class exams reduced to 70% for JKUT,” Samoon tweeted.

Earlier on August 4, Board of School Education said that to bring out students from psychological stress, it is working on to formulate a policy regarding reduction in the syllabus or its rationalization and will send it to higher authorities for administrative approval.

Veena Pandita, chairperson BOSE, earlier said that department is working on to formulate a policy which will be sent to Principal Secretary Education Department Dr Asgar Samoon for administrative approval so that the stress level of students in wake of COVID outbreak will be eased.

The Board had earlier asked the students to fill examination forms for class 10th, 11th and 12th for database purpose.
