Media’s silence over Ladakh situation will result in India paying ‘huge price’: Rahul Gandhi
Srinagar: Taking a dig at the Narendra Modi led Government of India (GoI), the leader of the opposition and former Indian National Congress President; Rahul Gandhi said that the media’s silence over Ladakh situation will result in India paying a “huge price.”
GOI is scared to face up to Chinese intentions in Ladakh.
Evidence on the ground indicates that China is preparing and positioning itself.

In a tweet, Gandhi said: “the government of India (GOI) is scared to face up to Chinese intentions in Ladakh. Evidence on the ground indicates that China is preparing and positioning itself.”
He also said lack of courage and the media’s silence will result in India paying a “huge price.”
Earlier on June 20, Gandhi said that Narendra Modi has “surrendered Indian territory to Chinese aggression”.
“The PM has surrendered Indian territory to Chinese aggression. If the land was Chinese, Why were our soldiers killed? Where were they killed?,” Gandhi tweeted some pointed questions directed at Modi.
He was speaking in the backdrop of a statement made by PM Modi that there was “no intrusion at the border by the Chinese Army.”
In May, Gandhi asked the GoI to come clean on the border standoff with China and tell the country what exactly is happening as its silence is fuelling speculation and uncertainty.
“The Government’s silence about the border situation with China is fuelling massive speculation and uncertainty at a time of crisis,” he wrote on Twitter.
“The government of India must come clean and tell India exactly what’s happening,” Gandhi added.
The comments come in the aftermath of a standoff between India and China and a subsequent troop buildup along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh region.
Pertinently, India and China have held five rounds of Corps Commander level talks but they have not been able to find any solution to change the actual ground position in many areas.
