Armed forces personnel along with 2 Kashmiri girls ‘detained’ at Srinagar airport

Srinagar:  Authorities at Srinagar airport on Saturday detained an armed forces personnel along with two girls from north Kashmir’s Bandipora district, after observing trio walking “suspiciously.”

Official sources said that two girls hailing from Ajas area of Bandipora district along with an armed forces personnel identified as Ashok Kumar Paul, son of Rajander Paul, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, who was posted with 13 RR at Ajas Bandipora, were scheduled to board a plane for Delhi.

However, authorities at the airport after observing that trio is walking in a state of suspicion, they were questioned and upon knowing the circumstances they were subsequently handed over to police station Humhama, where they remian detained.

Sources added that three of them are being questioned at the police station while the parents of both the girls have also been called to the police station for further investigations.
