Srinagar: A military operation against militants has started in Rangreth area of central Kashmir’s Srinagar district on Sunday.
Reports said that a joint team of CRPF and Jammu and Kashmir Police launched a cordon and search operation in Rangreth.

As the joint team of armed forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering the operation.
Police in its official Twitter handle said that “operation has begun”. Meanwhile, official sources said that the exchange of gunfire between the armed forces personnel and militants is going on.
