More 5,800 candidates appear in Class XII examination in 626 centers across Kashmir

Srinagar: More than 5,800 candidates appeared in the Class XII examination in 626 centers across Kashmir whereas in winter zone areas of Jammu division more than 15,000 candidates appeared in 188 centers on Thursday.

After being delayed by more than a month due to the pandemic the annual examination of class XII commenced from November 12 across the valley and winter zone areas of Jammu under the guidance and overall supervision of the Chairman, BOSE, Prof. Veena Pandita.

Secretary, JK BOSE Ms. Manisha Sareen (KAS) along with Joint Secretary, examination Dr Aijaz Ahmad Hakak visited the examination centers in Srinagar and outskirts.

As per a press statement by JK BOSE, “the examination was conducted smoothly with almost full attendance and Covid-19 SOPs were followed by the supervisory staff with the co-operation of the school management where the examination centres were set up.”

The candidates were briefed about the concessions granted in the examination. They had to attempt only 60 marks out of 100 marks.

Pertinent to mention here that to maintain the social distancing norms, one supervisor for 20 students were appointed instead of 30 students.

“The Secretary, JKBOSE during her inspection instructed the supervisory staff and school managements to facilitate the examinees in the best possible way keeping in view the pandemic and sanctity of the examination,” the statement said.

Further the heads of the institutions were impressed to ensure proper heating and lighting arrangements in the examination halls, the statement added.

“The support from all the concerned departments viz School Education Department, DSER, Civil and Police Administration is commendable for smooth, fair and hassle-free conduct of the examination,” the statement further read.
