Three local militants affiliated with Al-Badr outfit killed, civilian injured in military operation in Pulwama: IGP
‘201 militants killed in Kashmir this year’
Pulwama: Three local militants of Al-Badr outfit were killed and a civilian injured in a military operation in Tiken area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Inspector General of Police Kashmir Vijay Kumar said that all three local militants of Al-Badr have been killed in military operation against militants in Pulwama, a local news agency GNS reported.
A civilian was also injured during the exchange of firing, he was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment and is said to be stable.
Pertinently 201 militants have been killed so far this year in Kashmir Division.
The operation began after a joint team of Police, Army’s 55 RR and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Tiken.
As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the armed forces personnel ensuing the operation.
In view of the operation, authorities have suspended the internet service in Pulwama police district.
