Journalist Qayoom Khan bereaved

42-year-old Farooq Ahmad Khan, Uncle of journalist Qayoom Khan passed away after a long illness in Rahmoo village of Pulwama in South Kashmir on Tuesday morning.

Farooq is survived by wife, two daughters and Son. His chahrum will be observed at Rahmoo on Friday.

National Conference leader and district president Pulwama, Ghulam Mohiuddin Mir on Tuesday expresses grief over the death of Farooq Ahmad Khan and extended sympathies with the bereaved family.

Mir extended his heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved family, especially with journalist Qayoom Khan. He termed the deceased as kind and pious soul and said, “I equally share the pain of the bereaved family at this hour of grief.”

Shopian-Pulwama Working Journalists’ Guild (SPWJG) has expressed grief over the demise of Khan and expressed sympathies with the bereaved family.

In a statement, the guild stated that they stand with the bereaved family and that they also held a joint condolence meet in Pulwama.

“The members of the Guild prayed for the eternal rest to the deceased and prayed Almighty to give the entire family courage to bear the irreparable loss,” a statement from the Guild said.

Also, District Information Office Pulwama held a condolence meeting which was chaired by District Information Officer Tahir Ahmad Magray to mourn the demise. “In the meeting, heartfelt sympathy and solidarity was expressed with the bereaved family and prayers were held for grant of eternal peace to the departed soul,” a statement issued here said.

The meeting was attended by Assistant Information Officer among other officials.

Pulwama Working Journalist Association (PWJA) has also condoled the demise.
