Srinagar: A meeting of councillors was attacked by suspected militants in Lone Building Sopore. One councillor identified as Riyaz Ahmed and one PSO identified as Shafqat Ahmed have been shot dead.
The injured counsellor has been identified as Shams-u-din Peer.
The attack happened outside the building where BJP State Secretary and BDC Member Fareeda Khan was meeting the counsellors.
BJP media incharge Manzoor Bhat while condemning the attack has said the Fareeda Khan is safe and the attack took place outside the venue in which two people have been reportedly killed.
Police said that the area has been cordoned off.
