Eleven civilians injured during clashes near military operation site in south Kashmir’s Pulwama

Srinagar: At least eleven civilians were injured after clashes broke out between armed forces personnel and protestors near military operation site in Kakapora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama on Friday.

Eyewitnesses told Free Press Kashmir that a group of protestors assembled near the site and started pelting stones at the armed forces personnel triggering clashes. They said eleven people were injured during the clashes and all of them who were subsequently shifted to hospital are said to be stable now.

A 25-year-old girl Ishrat Jan (25), daughter of Abdul Aziz Dar of Samboora Pulwama received a bullet injury, was among the injured persons.

Earlier in the day, Block Medical Officer (BMO) Pampore, Dr Gulzar Ahmad confirmed the injuries to Ishrat, adding she was shifted to SMHS hospital in Srinagar for further treatment.

Meanwhile, a complete shutdown is being observed in Pulwama district and internet services are also shut.

Pertinently, three unidentified militants were killed in a military operation in Ghat Mohalla Kakapora area of Pulwama today.
